Sadhana of Mahamudra
Event description
Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche’s Sadhana of Mahamudra
“This is the darkest hour of the dark ages…. The Buddha’s teaching has waned in strength…. The age of the three poisons has dawned. And the three lords of materialism have seized power. This is the time of hell on earth. Sadness is always with us. And unceasing depression fills our minds.”
(The Sadhana of Mahamudra)
During these difficult times, the terma (treasure teachings) of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche aremore vivid, relevant, and powerful than ever. How, in these turbulent times, can we chart a genuine path to liberation – not only for ourselves but for all beings? How can we create a sane society on this earth?
To contemplate and practice this, we will watch and discuss videos of Chogyam TrungpaRinpoche’s 1975 teachings on the Sadhana of Mahamudra and will practice the sadhana and sitting meditation on each day of this four-day retreat. A 1982 talk by Trungpa Rinpoche will also introduce us to the treasure of his Shambhala teachings.
The retreat will be facilitated by Tashi Colman, a former student of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and secretary of Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche from 2013 to 2023.
