Safe & Together Model Supervisor Training | Dubbo
Event description
Safe & Together Model Supervisor Training
In-person two-day course
Domestic abuse is one of the most challenging case issues facing child protection and other family service agencies. Handling it well requires skills, confidence and knowledge. Supervising training is strongly recommended as part of any agency effort to promote organisation-wide, domestic violence-informed change.
Training is organised into three critical supervisory skills:
- Assessing the quality of their workers' practice.
- Addressing worker safety concerns.
- Decision making and case guidance.
As a result of this training, the participants will be better able to:
- Describe how to apply the principles and key concepts of the Safe & Together™ Model to supervise worker practice.
- Use a coaching framework to provide DV-informed supervision of worker’s practice.
- Support worker skill development, address worker safety concerns, and provide DV-informed case guidance and decisions.
- Have better awareness and skills to address worker emotional and physical safety issues that have implications for DV-informed practice and family outcomes.
- Have increased skill and confidence to assess and develop a worker’s skills when practicing domestic abuse-informed assessment, interviewing, documentation and case planning.
- Better provide DV-informed guidance to workers and make case decisions.
Prerequisite:
This 2-day training is designed for practitioners who have successfully completed the Safe & Together™ Model CORE Training and are eager to apply these techniques and knowledge to their supervisory roles. We strongly recommend that supervisors not only have a thorough understanding of the Model but also actively incorporate it into their daily work within the agency, department, or unit.
