"Sagra del Carciofo e Arancia Rossa" Tasting Night at Frank's
Event description
John & Bree Velluti, owners of foodie favourite, Frank’s Fruit Market in Haberfield invite you to join them on Saturday 24 August for Aperitivo 5.30pm-7.30pm inside our Haberfield Fruit Shop for our “Sagra del Carciofo e Arancia Rossa”, our August Tasting Night.
'Sagra' is an Italian word for a celebration around particular ingredients. Following the success of our Winter Tasting Night in July featuring Chestnuts, in August we are celebrating the seasonality of the Globe Artichoke (Carciofo) and Blood Orange (Arancia Rossa). We are excited to host you for another night of inspiration and new ideas for your cooking and entertaining at home. Your ticket includes food tastings prepared by local eateries and wine tastings that will be focused around our celebrated ingredients.
Roberta Muir Be Inspired: Food – Wine - Travel will host the evening and lead our conversation around these two delicious ingredients, discussing with John how and where Globe Artichokes and Blood Oranges are grown in Australia and their significance in Italian food culture and cooking. Roberta is a well-known food writer having co-written and published cookbooks with many of Sydney’s best chefs and ran Australia’s largest recreational cooking school, Sydney Seafood School at Sydney Fish Market for 23 years. Hear about Roberta's 2025 Northern & Southern Italian Food & Wine tours.
Peter Zuzza, of Atelier de Vino is a well-known Sydney restaurateur having been in the hospitality industry for almost 40 years and is a passionate wine enthusiast. In discussion with Roberta, Peter will profile the wines he serves and you will have the opportunity to buy these wines to take home with you after the event.
Please note: Our Sagras are small, intimate events so tickets are limited and will sell fast. We recommend that you don’t wait too long to book!
