Saha by Khawat | Ōmanawanui Hike
Description
Saha by Khawat: Ōmanawanui Hike
Join us for the first Saha by Khawat group hike! 🤎
Saha is Khawat’s health, wellness and fitness series, creating a space for women of the diaspora to connect, get active and prioritise their wellbeing together.
Whether you’re an experienced hiker or just starting your fitness journey, this is your invitation to get outdoors, meet new girls and enjoy a day of fresh air, coastal views and sisterhood. No pressure to be the fastest or fittest — we’ll move together and go at a pace that works for the group.
📍 When & Where
Date: Sunday 15 November 2026
Meet-up: 9:00am outside Les Mills, New Lynn
Destination: Ōmanawanui Track, with a carpool to Whatipū Beach
🥾 About the Hike
Approximately 6km return
Around 2.5–3 hours of walking
An out-and-back walk with beautiful coastal views
We’ll adjust our pace and turnaround point to suit the group’s ability.
🎒 What to Bring
Comfortable walking shoes with good grip
Plenty of water
Lunch and snacks
Sunhat, sunscreen and sunglasses
A rain jacket and warm layer
A small backpack and fully charged phone
Good to Know
Whatipū is isolated, and mobile reception can be patchy, so download anything you need beforehand. Suggested parking at McCrae car park is $7 for the day, with secure parking.
A few hiking reminders: We stay together, the slowest person sets the pace, and we leave only footprints behind.
Come as you are, bring your water bottle and get ready to move, connect and build healthy habits with the girls. 🤎
We can’t wait to see you there!
Saha by Khawat — moving together, growing together.
