Salem Farm Tour
Event description
Come take a tour of our home farm in Salem, NY!
This farm is in the second year of a transition from dairy and seed potatoes to chestnut & hickory orchard silvopasture. The trees were planted in spring 2024, so they won't all be out of the tubes yet. This is a great opportunity to learn more about how we incorporate our new sheep operation into the orchard system, some of our experiments with pasture diversification, how honey and maple syrup production are integrated into the farm, and to see our operational home-base and the site of the future chestnut processing facility we are building.
Feel free to pack a lunch for an outdoor picnic after the tour and/or bring a bathing suit and towel for a dip in the White Creek.
This tour will involve a lot of walking over uneven terrain. If anyone with limited mobility would like to attend, please reach out to bug@breadtreefarms.com.
Please RSVP by getting a ticket. We'll send a logistics email out to registered attendees when the date drawers near.
