Event description

SALTMARSH LUNCH GATHERING 2024

Since October 2022 a core group of artists together with various artists in residence with us gathered four times a year to explore the Saltmarshes around Pipe Clay Lagoon. We overlook these Saltmarshes and regularly walk ride by them throughout the year. They represent a stability in the landscape, a robust environment that thrives on inundation and contains a treasure of ecological interconnectedness. We began the project with no outcome in mind – more we wanted to think with the Saltmarsh and perhaps respond to the saltmarshes and the natural and cultural landscape surrounding them.

We start our 2024 Saltmarsh journey with a creative lunch on Saturday 24 February with a gathering of artists and environmental scientists. This will be a lunch following a quick walk on the Pipeclay Lagoon saltmarsh.

All that we are will have two artists in residence at that time, Miriam Al Noah from Victoria and Naomi Kasumi from Seattle. Miriam works with food and is keen to cater the lunch for everyone. We also plan to show a few current projects that are related to the saltmarshes from both artists and environmental scientists.

Please book a place to attend this lunch. The lunch is free, you don’t have to bring any other contribution except your own drinks and anything you would like to share. If you would like to share what your connection is to the saltmarsh or show some work underway please bring a USB with 5 slides for a 5 minute presentation (Petcha Kutcha style).

PLACES ARE LIMITED FOR THIS LUNCH
