Join us this National Science Week to monitor Local Port River Saltmarsh on Kaurna Country!

Saltmarsh ecosystems are vital for healthy waterways—they provide shelter for juvenile fish, recycle nutrients and stabilise shorelines. They are important, but often overlooked habitats that are under threat from human impacts.

Come along for a saltmarsh working bee to learn more about local plants, monitor existing saltmarsh habitats, and help get hands-on with supporting habitat recovery.

Local OzFish staff will provide monitoring training, along with gloves and safety equipment as part of the event.

When & where

Date: Thursday August 20th
Time: 2pm - 3:30pm
Meet: at the shoreline at Yitpi Yartapuultiku, 1300 Old Port Rd, Port Adelaide.

What to bring

Closed-toe shoes that can handle muddy or uneven terrain.
Suitable clothing for working outdoors.
Hat, sunscreen and insect repellent.
Drink bottle and snacks.

We will postpone the event if heavy rain is forecast but will go ahead in showers.

Attendee information may be used for follow up evaluation, in order to assess the longer term impacts of our events. Follow up contact may be made (in the form of a survey) but participation in any evaluation is optional.
