Born in New Zealand and now calling Australia home, Sam works from her light-filled studio, drawing inspiration from the ever-changing beauty of her garden and the surrounding landscape.
Painting since her teenage years, Sam spent many years nurturing her artistic practice alongside a banking career before dedicating herself entirely to her craft 12 years ago. Her creative direction shifted when she discovered the extraordinary world of specialty flowers—an encounter that ignited a fascination with their form, movement, and fleeting elegance. Since then, florals have become the signature focus of her work, celebrated through richly layered oil paintings that capture both their delicacy and presence.
Known for seeking out unusual and exquisite blooms, Sam is endlessly inspired by flowers that evoke curiosity and wonder. Each arrangement is thoughtfully composed in her studio, where seasonal stems become both subject and muse. Her paintings reflect a deep appreciation for nature’s transient beauty, inviting viewers to pause and savour moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed.
In recent years, gardening has become an integral part of Sam’s creative life, deepening her connection to the flowers she paints and fostering a philosophy centred on seasonality, sustainability, and slow creativity.
The flower farm tour will cover the greenhouse, seasonal crops growing for Spring and an insight into our farming and growing methods.
