OPEN GARDENS

The Samford Edible Garden Trail (SEGT) is returning for 2023! Some of the gardens from prior years are opening again, plus we have a selection of new and inspiring edible gardens that will be open for viewing for the first time.

Expect anywhere between 10-15 gardens this year! A few will be open on both days, however most will be open only either Saturday OR Sunday.

To make it even simpler, and so you can see more of the gardens you want, this year your ticket gives you access to both days of the Trail!

This is a self-paced Trail: you get to decide which gardens, and which order. You will have the opportunity to wander through the gardens at your own pace, as well as join (optional) garden tours run by some of the garden hosts themselves. Open hours for all gardens are 9am-3pm.

Ticketholders will be sent the Trail Guide/map with the address of each garden in the week before the Trail starts - expect an email on Monday 15th May. This is to protect the privacy of the garden hosts between now and the Trail weekend.

Once again, some of the local cafes will be showcasing locally grown produce, and offering discounts to Trail goers.

For those of you making a weekend of it — fantastic! We have compiled a list of local accommodation on our website to help you. We suggest booking early.

TICKET DETAILS

In both prior years tickets sold out, so we suggest booking early to avoid missing out this year.

Every visitor MUST have a ticket (even the children with free tickets) so we can comply with COVID Safe requirements.

PLEASE NOTE: We are unfortunately not able to offer single-day tickets due to limited volunteer capacity to manage the administration that is required. If you cannot attend, you are most welcome to pass the ticket on to a family member or friend. We can refund up to 7 days prior to the event.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Ticket holders will receive the Trail Guide/map in the week before the event, containing all the addresses for your visit.
The gardens are located on private property. The owners maintain their right to refuse entry or to ask visitors to leave for any reason they see fit.
Please note that while we love our furry friends, dogs are not permitted at any of the gardens.
Please wear sturdy footwear, sunscreen and a hat.
Samford Village is wheelchair friendly, however not all gardens are. More information on accessibility for each garden will be provided in the Trail Guide/map & updated on our website.
Accessibility to each garden varies; expect uneven ground, different surfaces, and sloping areas, and wear appropriate footwear.
There are no toilet facilities at the private gardens. Please ensure you factor in toilet stops along the way. Public facilities will be listed on the Trail Guide/map.
Samford Edible Garden Trail is operating under a Queensland Government Covid Safe Event Checklist. In purchasing a ticket, you agree to comply with the requirements of this checklist as directed by our volunteers, including practising good hygiene, social distancing, and regular hand sanitising.

The Samford Edible Garden Trail is a community, not-for-profit initiative, supported by the Samford and Districts Progress and Protection Association. The profits raised from this event used to support the establishment and support of community gardens.
