Sampler Course in Music Production
Event description
Join us for an immersive one-day workshop on the fundamentals of music production, designed for students aged 16-18. Whether you're a musician exploring new avenues or a curious mind eager to delve into the world of electronic production, this workshop will equip you with essential knowledge and practical skills to kickstart your journey in the music industry.
This Sampler Course includes:
MP101: PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE
Exploring industry roles and operations, possible career paths, development opportunities, funding bodies, and distribution platforms.
MP102: STRUCTURE
Discussion surrounding structure, what makes a good song, trends in the mainstream and beyond, and song production workflow.
MP103: INVENT
In groups, students will brainstorm song topics, genres, and elements, before writing their song and producing using SAE's midi lab facilities.
MP104: MIXING CLASS
Using plug-ins to make mixes sound commercially viable.
CC105: SHOWCASE
Students will put on a mini-festival, share their final exports, and discuss their learning journey.
The workshop will be held on campus at SAE Auckland, using the state-of the-art studio facilities. We are a 5 minute walk from the
Parnell train station or there is plenty of street parking that is free on the weekend.
