Samson Sounds are headlining Oi Musica's Brassed-Up mini festival on the evening of Saturday 20th June. We are creating an XXXL band to join them on stage for their final 2 songs. And YOU are invited!

The workshop: 10.45am-1pm at Edinburgh College - Saturday 20 June

Directed by Marcus Britton and Roddy Dickson, alongside artists Anders Rigg (vocals / percussion / production, Samson Sounds) and Willie Onedrop (guitar, Samson Sounds). We are seriously excited to get all these musicians creating together!

We will work in 3 separate rooms to learn horn lines, drum grooves and guitar riffs for 2 Samson Sounds tunes - before coming together to form one LARGE, 50-strong band!

The Massed Band is open to ages 10+. Brass / reeds / guitars should bring their own instrument. Drummers should have some experience of street / samba drumming - we'll provide the drums.

Please anticipate some advance listening (or looking over notation if you prefer) to familiarise yourself with the music before the workshop.

This is a brand new collaboration, and we cannot wait!

The Gig: Brassed-Up mini festival at Portobello Town Hall (5-10pm) - Saturday 20 June

You'll be part of a bill that features 5 live acts! All coming together to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Oi Musica's award-winning youth project Brass Blast.

**Your workshop ticket gets you entry to the gig.

Samson Sounds will be on stage around 8 or 8.30pm - bringing their upbeat, dance-inducing Latin/West African/electronic vibes. The massed band will join them on stage 9pm or thereabouts to play the final 2 songs of their set.

It's going to be epic.
