Hope, Heartache, and Healing intertwine in this multi-generational family drama set in Redgum River.

Single mother Sarah discovers her grandmother's war correspondence and embarks on a journey of discovery to save her family. Decades later, the three generations of women come together at a music retreat, uncovering a heartbreaking family mystery and discovering that the ghosts of the past can lead them to their future.

Books will be available for purchase and signing on the night provided by Harry Hartog Warringah Mall.

$7.00 + booking fee. A complimentary glass of wine and nibbles on arrival.

Sandie Docker grew up in Coffs Harbour, and first fell in love with reading when her father introduced her to fantasy books as a teenager. Her love of fiction began when she first read Jane Austen for the HSC, but it wasn't until she was taking a translation course at university that her Mandarin lecturer suggested she might have a knack for writing – a seed of an idea that sat quietly in the back of her mind while she lived overseas and travelled the world. Sandie first decided to put pen to paper (yes, she writes everything the old-fashioned way before hitting a keyboard) when living in London. Now back in Sydney with her husband and daughter, she writes every day. The Redgum River Retreat is Sandie's fifth book following the success of The Kookaburra Creek Cafe, The Cottage at Rosella Cove, The Banksia Bay Beach Shack & The Wattle Island Book Club.

Cassie Hamer has a professional background in journalism and PR, but now much prefers the world of fiction over fact. Her debut novel, After the Party, was an Australian bestseller and her second book, The End of Cuthbert Close, was published in 2020. Her third novel, The Truth About Faking It, is now in stores. Cassie lives in Sydney with her terrific husband, her three, mostly-terrific daughters, and a mini-labradoodle, Charlie, who is the newest and least demanding family member. In between daydreaming and dog walking, Cassie is writing her next novel but always has time to connect with other passionate readers via her website or through social media.
