Sapling School - Waring Season
Event description
Join us for an outdoor expedition led by Play Specialist Catherine Sewell this Waring Season! Through singing, storytelling and hands-on activities, children will learn about Waring (Wombat) Season in the Kulin Nation’s calendar.
Children will have the opportunity to go on a guided garden walk where they will learn about seasonal changes for plants and animals, discover how to plant seeds and take-home seasonal vegetables in seedling trays to watch grow! Tailored for children aged 3-5, Sapling School is designed to introduce the principles of sustainability and permaculture to children at a young age.
Join us for the opportunity to explore environmentally- conscious habits, connection to community and the land at our inner-city oasis bounded by the Birrarung (Yarra River).
Please note that as an arts and cultural precinct, anyone visiting the Abbotsford Convent Precinct over the age of 12 will need to be fully vaccinated (unless a lawful exemption applies). Children under the age of 12 are exempt.
