Welcome to Sapwood, a hidden gem in the heart of the Hunter Valley, where music meets nature in a magical setting. Our bush stage, nestled among lush greenery, sets the scene for intimate house concerts that are more than just performances—they're immersive experiences. Operating as a secret garden show, Sapwood invites you to discover a sanctuary where music resonates with soul and spirit. Each concert is a unique journey into the power of connection and music. It's with great pleasure and excitement that we are hosting the incredible Hayley Grace & The Bay Collective for our first event of 2024. Tickets are capped at 50 so get in quick! 

Hayley Grace & The Bay Collective are keeping the fires of funk stoked this winter and are coming to Sapwood, Hunter Valley, for a dynamic & diverse funk explosion! A fully stacked 7 piece ensemble with some of South East QLD/Northern NSW’s most exciting performers. Don't miss this incredible collective of formidable melodic mavens weaving between funk, soul and reggae ...a night not to be missed! \

Hayley created The Bay Collective in 2017 and after being invited to play at the world famous Byron Bay Bluesfest in 2018, the band has clocked up an impressive run of gigs and residencies up and down the east coast of Australia. In summer of 2019 they released their debut EP, High Vibes, which is a high energy, high vibe collection of tracks to get you feeling good.
Hayley is a powerhouse performer with an incredibly diverse range of global experience under her belt, having toured extensively around the world. Locally, she has graced the stages of Splendour in the Grass, Bluesfest and Caloundra Music Festival and toured with icons like UB40, Phil Emmanuel and Darren Middleton (Powderfinger).

WHAT TO EXPECT:

- Arrive from 3pm onwards set up camp or enjoy the afternoon. 

- A camp warden will help you find a spot and make sure everyone leaves enough room. Onsite camping is capped at 30, a free camp is available about 200m down the road for over flow. 

- Sapwood is located a short walk from the camp ground, please note that if you require support we can drive you to the stage. Our toilets and site are not very accessible and require a moderate level of mobility. 

- Once settled in, feel free to explore the land, bush and space.

- Music times will be announced soon. We usually have a opening act, dinner and then the main band. 

- Music will finish early enough for people to drive home if not camping / to have respect for our neighbours. Fire side jams are encouraged and the following morning options of jamming or bush walks are available.   

DINNER: 

- Dinner will be a simple soup / curry catered for gluten free and vegan. We will have camp fire bread and veg as well.

WHAT TO BRING:

- Tent, Van, Caravan etc. 

- Warm clothing.

- A mat, chair or rug to sit on. 

- A mug, bowl if possible (we have plenty to share). 

- Own breakfast if you are camping the night.

We recognise the past atrocities against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this land and that Australia was founded on the genocide and dispossession of First Nations people.
