Sunday Community Gatherings

SATORI EARTH’s Sunday Community Gatherings are a monthly space for people to come together in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

There is no fixed program.

What we do will emerge partly from who is here, what is alive within the group, and what feels most useful on the day.

We may begin with meditation. We may move our bodies or practise some yoga together. We may sit under the trees with tea and simply talk. At other times, there may be a particular conversation that wants our attention — something happening within our families, our community or the wider world that deserves more than a passing exchange on social media.

The intention is to create a safe, respectful and open space for intelligent and alive conversation — where people can bring different perspectives, listen deeply, question assumptions and explore ideas together.

Conversations that matter

One conversation that feels particularly important at present is how we consciously navigate the enormous social and economic changes already unfolding around us.

Artificial intelligence is one example.

AI is rapidly changing the nature of work, education, creativity and knowledge — and consequently the decisions we are making about careers and livelihoods, both for ourselves and for our children.

What kinds of work will remain genuinely useful and sustainable?

What skills will matter?

How do we prepare young people for a future we cannot completely predict?

And how do we adapt without abandoning our natural design, creativity and humanity?

Pathways that once carried an assumed premium — particular university degrees, professions, and conventional career trajectories — may not necessarily carry the same certainty into the future.

These are conversations worth having together, rather than each family trying to navigate them alone.

AI is only one possible topic.

Other gatherings may move into parenting, adolescence, education, relationships, creativity, land stewardship, community resilience, conscious leadership, wellbeing, spirituality, cultural change — or something entirely different that emerges from the people who are there.

The gathering itself may sometimes be the medicine: slowing down, being with other people, sharing food, moving, listening and reconnecting.

An open-ended gathering

These gatherings are intentionally not workshops or classes.

There is no expectation that every Sunday Community Gathering will look the same.

Some may be quiet and contemplative.

Some may be physical.

Some may be conversational.

Some may bring together people with particular knowledge or lived experience who have something valuable to contribute.

The gathering will generally be held by Nic Anderson, founder and custodian of SATORI EARTH, with other collaborators or guest contributors joining from time to time.

The role of the facilitator is not to provide all the answers, but to help hold an intentional space in which meaningful conversation and connection can occur.

Community Contribution

$10 per person

The contribution helps support the practical costs of maintaining and opening SATORI EARTH as a community space — including tea and refreshments, amenities, cleaning, grounds and the ongoing costs involved in caring for the property.

It also supports our ability to continue offering simple, accessible community gatherings that are not dependent upon running a formal workshop or program.

If the contribution is genuinely a barrier to attending, please contact us. The intention is participation, not exclusion.

What to bring

* A small plate to share, if you would like

* Water bottle

* A journal, if you use one

* Comfortable clothing if we decide to move or practise yoga

* A yoga mat to sit on, cushion or light blanket if you prefer

* An open mind and willingness to participate in respectful conversation

You do not need to arrive knowing anyone.

You do not need to have expertise in the topic being discussed.

Come as you are.
