    Event description

Join us for this easy hike outing to experience drumming in nature. We will meet in Tilden park, at Inspiration Point Parking. We will share this group hike and find an open area to form our circle and find our drumming rhythm in the open air.

The hike is about 2 hours in total, so the whole outing is about 3 hours.

This will be a small group activity, we will practice safe distancing and keep masks in use as necessary, for the safety of all participants.

No prior drumming experience needed. If you have a favorite drum or other percussion tool, please bring it. The activity will include call and response, basic counting and is open to adults of any age.

Our drumming circle leader is Farahnaz Mazandarani, RN, PHN has been facilitating small group drumming for 15 years. Farahnaz has worked in health care and rehabilitation, uses drumming as a complement to her holistic approach to health and wellness. In 2019, Farahnaz led drumming circles for high schoolers at Miramonte, here in Orinda.

We recommend that you bring your own water bottle and a snack, wear comfortable shoes, the trail is rated as easy, but come prepared.

Drumming circle participation helps build community, promotes many health benefits for body and mind, reduces stress responses and improves immune function.
