Recovery Together: A Workshop for Former Members, Families & Friends

Join internationally recognised cult recovery therapist Rachel Bernstein for an interactive half-day workshop for former members of high-control groups, people born or raised in these environments, and the family members, partners, and friends who care about and support them.

Together, we will explore some of the challenges that can arise during and after leaving a high-control environment—including rebuilding identity and trust, reconnecting with others, understanding why leaving can be complicated and why emotional ties may persist, and communicating with loved ones who remain involved.

We will also look at ways families and friends can offer meaningful support while respecting autonomy, reducing pressure, and creating opportunities for connection.
Through expert guidance, discussion, shared learning, and practical strategies, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the recovery process and tools for navigating relationships, communication, and life after high control.

This will be a supportive and respectful environment. There will be opportunities to share your own experiences if you feel that doing so would be helpful, but sharing is always optional and will remain entirely your choice.
