Saturday Stewardship & Owyhee Recreation Club Hike w/Larry

Join us for this Stewardship/hiking opportunity by meeting at the Watchable Wildlife Area in the canyon below Owyhee Dam at 10a on Saturday, Feb. 1st, 2025. We will clean up beside the roadways and at Snively Hot Spring until 11:30 am when we’ll join Larry Sullivan as he leads the Owyhee Recreation Club’s hike to _____ (Larry’s choice). As always, stewardship will be canceled if the weather doesn’t allow trash to be seen/retrieved (ie snow cover or heavy rain). We hope you can join us in keeping the public lands of our canyon clean and enjoy a brisk hike in the beautiful Owyhee Canyonlands!

Weather permitting, we will use gloves and grabbers to pick up trash to positively engage in stewardship on this section of public lands. 

Items to bring:

• Sunscreen and chapstick
• Baby wipes (for a quick clean-up)
• Clothing for Variable Conditions:
  • Sturdy hiking boots or trail shoes
  • Optional: Shoes or clothing you don’t mind getting wet
  • Lightweight hiking clothes
  • Extra socks
  • Sun hat and sunglasses
  • Rain jacket (in case of weather changes)
  • Insulating jacket or warm layer (weather-dependent)
