Saturday Studio Sessions - Session 4: Shape and Respond
Description
Get your hands on the idea of change.
Imagine being able to hold a network of possibilities in your hands. In this workshop, clay becomes a playful metaphor for neuroplasticity - the brain’s capacity to change with experience and learning. Press, roll, connect, smooth and reshape as you explore what change can look and feel like.
Renae will share a brief, accessible insight into the science, then invite you to create a symbol, give shape to a thought or feeling, or simply follow the material. The earthy texture and movement can feel soothing for some people; your response is your own.
You might leave with a new way to picture change, an observation about what supports you, or an idea you’d like to practice in everyday life.
*The clay acts as a metaphor and in this workshop, not a literal model of your brain, and you're offered a way to explore possibilities.
90 minutes; no more than six participants. No art experience needed. All materials and aprons provided. No previous session required. Newcomers welcome; each session stands alone.
