Welcome to the Inaugural Launch Event for SAUDADE: A Spoken Word Collective.
SAUDADE is a monthly spoken word showing, which invites a rotating ensemble of local Meanjin poets and wordsmiths alike, to share their creative genius in a potent, and intimate setting.
With a roaring ensemble of 7 talented creatives, our first event is driven by the theme of "The Ugly". You'll be serenaded by juicy, thought-provoking, stimulating, and emotionally charged pieces from a variety of poets, all sharing their spoken word art form inspired by this very prompt.
Prepare yourselves for an hour and a half of finger clicking, head nodding, viscerally charged entertainment. From slam poetry, to prose, short story, rap, and lyric, SAUDADE carves out a container of thoughtful contemplation on all matters life, death, and everything in between.
