Event description

The Sauna Project is back with another year of Sauna Fest!

We are super excited to announce the return of this event. Last year, despite the rain, we successfully hosted the festival, and this year, we are prepared for anything!

If you haven't attended Sauna Fest before, you might be wondering, what is it?

Sauna Fest is a celebration of everything sauna! To give a background on what we do; The Sauna Project hosts sauna sessions across New Zealand. People book for one-hour-long sessions and alternate between the heat of the sauna and the cold of the ocean. It's truly a magical experience that promotes health in many communities.

So, on the 17th of May, we will be sounding the trumpet and gathering all of our mobile saunas across the country in one place - Lake Tikitapu (Blue Lake). The weekend will be filled with activities centered around health and well-being. Our activities are all age-inclusive, and there's something for everyone!

Activities include:

  • Sauna
  • Ice plunge
  • Educational/interactive workshops
  • Yoga
  • Meditation
  • Games
  • Food
  • Shops
  • Music
  • Dance

Our new location is nestled in the beautiful Lake Tikitapu (Blue Lake) just outside of Rotorua. Our venue is the entire Top 10 holiday park, situated right on the shore of the lake. The holiday park has a vast amount of space with plenty of campgrounds, included in the general admission tickets. If you want to upgrade your ticket and live more luxuriously, we offer a selection of motels, self-contained cabins, and glamping options to choose from.

Gates will open at 2 pm on Friday, the 17th, and will close at 2 pm on Sunday, the 19th.

Keep an eye on our website and Instagram for updates on the festival,

We hope to see you there!

"The Blue Lake (Tikitapu) is one of the closest lakes to Rotorua. You can swim, kayak, paddle board, water ski, sail, or fish for trout, right from our doorstep. Along with an easy walking track that circles the lake taking in beautiful beaches, native bush and the Whakarewarewa Redwood Forest.

Our holiday park is only a short 10 minute drive from the centre of Rotorua offering you the best of both worlds – close to attractions and shops yet far enough from the city to enjoy being surrounded by nature".
