Save Tuvalu, Save the World Community Film Screening
Event description
Join us for an evening of food, culture, and climate action. At the heart of the event is Save Tuvalu, Save the World, an original documentary from The Australia Institute, presented by Walkley Award-winning journalist and former ABC Four Corners reporter Stephen Long. The film takes audiences to the front line of climate change in Tuvalu, where rising seas are destroying crops, contaminating fresh water, and threatening to render low-lying islands uninhabitable within decades.
We are honoured to welcome Gitty K Yee, a youth advocate, photographer, and Tuvalu resident, who will share her perspective on her island home’s fight for survival.
Event highlights:
4:00pm – Doors open with interactive activities and opportunities to connect with climate and cultural community groups
5:00pm – Pacific performances and formalities commence
