Saving Tuvalu film fundraiser
Description
We invite you to join us for the SAVING TUVALU OPEN MIC NIGHT, a very special evening dedicated to raising awareness and much-needed funds for an upcoming feature documentary, Saving Tuvalu.
ABOUT THE DOCUMENTARY
Produced by Media Stockade, Saving Tuvalu is a new 90-minute documentary directed by Australian filmmakers Kate Blackmore and Amelia Tovey of Tellus Films, in collaboration with Tuvaluan youth climate advocate Kato Ewekia, the wider Tuvaluan community in Tuvalu and Tuvaluans living in Sydney. Upon completion in 2027, it will become the first feature documentary ever filmed in Tuvalu.
The documentary follows the proud Pacific nation of Tuvalu as it responds to the challenges of climate change and rising sea levels through innovative and inspiring initiatives, including the creation of the world's first digital nation. Through everyday stories, traditions, culture and community life, Saving Tuvalu will share a deeply human perspective on climate change with audiences around the world.
Following its completion, Saving Tuvalu is scheduled for international film festival screenings in 2028, a cinema release throughout Australia and New Zealand and broadcast across Europe through ZDF/Arte, reaching more than 50 million households. The film is also expected to be showcased at major international climate events, including COP conferences, helping amplify Tuvalu's voice on the global stage.
