Another SAW: Sawtooth Artist Workshop will be taking place on Saturday 19th October 2-4pm ‘Alternative Photography – Make a Chemigram Image with Simone Darcy.’ What a treat.

Learn how to make a chemigram print with photographer Simone Darcy. Chemigrams are abstract cameraless prints, made by drawing and painting with chemicals on photo-sensitive paper. This process can be done in the light. Participants will be shown several techniques using a range of resists and various application methods to create unique images.
This workshop is perfect for both beginners and enthusiasts looking to explore unconventional photographic techniques. Participants will be able to take home the works they make on the day.
All chemicals, paper and equipment are included.

Simone is a contemporary photographic artist who uses experimental processes including cameraless techniques to make unique photograms and light paintings onto photo-sensitive materials to depict the physical and psychological effects on the body
Simone has been teaching photography for 20 years, she has previous teaching roles in photomedia at The University of Newcastle and Newcastle Art School - TAFE NSW. Simone has been located in Tasmania since 2022 and has delivered alternative photographic workshops at Lightwave Festival, Moonah Arts Centre and Rosny Arts Centre.
