How conscious culture pays dividends

In conversation with Julie-Ann Manahan of Mana Real Estate, SBW Committee member and HR expert Justine Dorrell will uncover the back story to Julie-Ann’s move away from the typical real estate model towards a more conscious, un-typical model.

Julie-Ann will share why and how she made the move to start her own estate agency, how it differs from the norm and reveal how these changes have helped grow her business, employ great staff and enable her to give back to her community.

We will delve into the what’s, how’s and why’s of doing business with a conscience and how that translates to any business in any industry.

-  What was the catalyst to starting her own agency

-  How she took the leap from employee to employer

-  Why doing business the anti-ordinary way is good for all parties

Come along, ask the questions and return with valuable tips to utilise in your own workplace.

About Julie-Ann:

I love this part of the world and feel very connected to the community. My focus is keeping business local. Which is why I decided to step out of a typical franchise to launch MANA real estate – to keep the money in the community. Giving back is my mantra.

With over 20 years in the industry and after seven years with Raine & Horne Ocean Shores and Murwillumbah, I made the momentous decision to launch my own brand.

I felt things could be done better. At MANA we put people first. We see the ‘Serve us’ in Service. Our team is a salt-of-the-earth bunch, we are ‘un-typical agents’. With no third party and no barriers, we can do things our way.

Our team’s mission is to make the property dream a reality. This should be a fun and seamless experience. And through our superior marketing technology and authentic and transparent communication, we take the stress out of the property process.

I like to share the property journey, every step of the way. I regularly check-in and share the key milestones of tears and excitement. It’s the part of my job I love the most. I’ve made forever friends through a profession I feel passionate about – every day is a joy!
