Join our incredibly inspiring guest speakers as they share insights from their personal stories and discover how these successful business women manage thriving businesses amidst additional challenges that can arise unexpectedly.

Hear first hand how the principles of adversity are relevant to business and practical ways to build a strong mindset and resilience when the unexpected lands in your life.

Join us at our October SBW Tweed monthly networking hub as we sit in conversation with local businesswomen who have demonstrated resilience in their lives and turned it into success in their businesses.

Our speakers: Donna Masing- Global Performance Therapy, Louise Duke-Wondery Skin Food and our MC Nat Quirk -Women’s Confidence & Transformation Coach, have all overcome unexpected yet major adversity in their lives and their businesses. Instead of giving up, they have used their strengths to overcome their challenges, learn, grow, develop and run thriving businesses.

Donna sums it up perfectly when she says” To sum it up, if opportunity doesn’t come knocking - then build a door”

Come along and be inspired.

About the Speakers:

Donna Masey- Global Performance Therapy
In October 2016 while on a surfing holiday overseas, Donna Masing fell off a wave and the tail of her own board collided with her temple. The force of that impact broke bones in her neck and rattled her brain from side to side, resulting in a traumatic brain injury.

Upon returning home to Australia, Donna was unable to run her business, a sports massage clinic in Northern NSW where she attended to Australia’s surfing elite and other professional athletes. She had difficulty speaking, walking, coping with groups of people, bright lights, had limited thinking capacity and could not focus on anything for any great deal of time. Doctors assured her that it would all pass and soon life would return to normal. However these things did not pass, in fact many symptoms got worse. Donna was suffering from post concussion syndrome, a complex condition where symptoms of a concussion linger for longer than normal. She was unaware at the time of the damage to her neck and nerves at the back of her skull, but these conditions were adding to daily migraines, dizziness and an overall inability to function.

After months of limited success, Donna’s Doctors asked her to begin grief counselling to accept the changes to her life were permanent and she was never going to make a full recovery. There would always be limitations, working more than a few hours a week was unlikely and chronic pain was now a part of day to day life. The traumatic brain injury had defined her.

It was Donna’s refusal to accept the cards she had been dealt that sparked her journey of healing, taking her across to the other side of the world to find the help she needed. It took years, but Donna succeeded in getting her life back and has since expanded and adapted her business to include the very treatment that helped her so much.

Donna realised her dream of opening her own multidisciplinary clinic in December 2018 and has continued along her journey of self-belief and healing ever since. In 2019 Donna was named the Northern Rivers NSW Business Chamber Outstanding Business Leader and went on to be a State Finalist.

Donna has consulted for international Doctors, Physical Therapists and Concussion Specialists on how to communicate with their TBI patients, she has presented at medical conferences, been on speaking panels at events and was featured on the front pages of both the Tweed Daily Newspaper and The Tweed Valley Weekly. She is currently writing a book about her experiences on the other side of treatment table and is starting an innovative new company to help more people get access to the therapy that changed her life.
Donna brings motivation and inspiration to our event, encouraging  us never to give up, rather to adapt. To sum it up, if opportunity doesn’t come knocking - then build a door.

My mission if you choose to jump on for the ride is to START A NATURAL MAKE UP REVOLUTION with makeup and skincare made from simple ingredients ‘good enough to eat’ to play my part in ridding the world of single use plastic one reusable make up tin at a time!

MC for the evening will be :

Nat Quirk- Women’s Confidence & Transformation Coach.

A full stand for women to return to the truth of who they are. Mother to a young son. A daughter, sister, friend & confidant. Terminal Cancer Survivor.

In 2015 Nat was diagnosed with terminal cancer. An intense year and half of treatment followed. In that year & half Nat realised the drugs combat the physical symptoms of cancer & she needed to work with the emotional symptoms that got her here, and that would ultimately be the ‘instrumental ‘thing’ in her moving through cancer, treatment & into life beyond cancer.

Nat has gone on to work with hundreds of women, facilitating life changing transformation through her online programs, in person speaking & writing. A former advocate for Melanoma Patients Australia & ambassador for the Melanoma March, Nat has appeared on Chanel 7 & 9 news, ABC Radio & numerous print news publications.
