Join Singing City and Lyric Fest in celebrating the 125th anniversary of the birth of Langston Hughes—a central voice of the Harlem Renaissance whose poetry helped shape American literature, music, and culture. This special performance explores his enduring impact through choral settings, art songs, and readings of his letters, bringing his vision to life through music and spoken word.
Artistic & Music Director Rollo Dilworth leads Singing City with guest artists: soprano Charlene Canty, baritone Kenneth Overton, narrators Charlotte Blake Alston and Chaz Howard, and pianist Laura Ward.
