Description

This 24-hour workshop series aims to introduce you to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). As a participant, you will have the opportunity to consider how SoTL can inform your teaching practice and explore how you can incorporate a scholarly lens into your practice. You will also have an opportunity to develop a research question arising from your discipline or teaching experience and conduct a mini-literature review or a similar scholarly reflection connecting SoTL research to your teaching practice.

Learning Outcomes 

  • ​​Describe the key characteristics of SoTL 

  • Map the SoTL research process from conceptualization to dissemination 

  • Critique current scholarship in teaching and learning 

  • Identify SoTL research strategies 

  • Develop a SoTL research question arising from own teaching experience or discipline  

  • Conduct a mini-literature review or a similar scholarly reflection connecting SoTL research to your teaching practice.   


*Note: This workshop qualifies as an elective for the Certificate in University Teaching and Learning (CUTL) for those participants who are interested in completing the certificate. Contact the facilitator for details on how to earn credit.​”
