Event description

Join us these school holidays for a Marine Nature Studies Art Workshop with Angela Rossen - funded and supported by Perth NRM, the Stirling Natural Environment Coastcare (SNEC) and the City of Stirling's Community Grants.

Angela Rossen is an artist who works with scientists to create exciting educational biodiversity discovery events and festivals throughout WA. She will be presenting marine nature studies holiday workshops for children and young adults.

When: Wednesday 8 October 2025

Where: Trigg Island Surf Life Saving Club

Time: Two Sessions available:

  • Session 1 - Suitable for ages 6-11 year olds) - 10:30-12:30pm (2hrs)

    Learn how to draw and paint a nature study of the marine plants and animals that live in our sunlit shallow marine waters. Find out about the leafy seagrass meadows and algae gardens that are home to so many sea creatures. All materials supplied.

  • Session 2 - Suitable for ages 12-16 year olds) - 1:30pm-4pm (2.5hrs)

    Create a nature study of local marine species. We will experiment with mixing colour and learn how to use the paintbrush as a precision tool. This workshop will be of particular interest to anyone who loves the beach, beachcombers and keen snorkelers. All material supplied.

Cost: Tickets are $10 each - Limited spots available, book in quick!

Please Note: Parents/guardians can drop children off for the sessions, however will need to stay close by if we need to call. There are cafes nearby. Please have children bring their water bottle. Water and a bowl of fruit will be available.
