WaterFest - School Holiday - Terrarium Building Workshop
Description
Join us these school holidays for this fun workshop where kids will get their hands dirty creating their own self-sustaining terrarium.
In this workshop children will each build their own terrarium to take home while learning about the water cycle, how to care for plants and how to look after their new micro-ecosystem.
Attendees design and build their own terrarium with plants of their choosing and decorate with rocks, sand and mini figurine.
This workshop is run by EnviroMentoring.
The workshop is designed for school age children (5+). Confident kindy age children (4 years) can participate with parental support. The workshop is not suitable for very young children. The centre has a number of age-appropriate activities for very young children to enjoy while older children in their group participate in the workshop.
Please note children must be actively supervised at all times and not to be left at the activity without a parent/adult guardian.
This is a free activity, however bookings are essential and spaces are limited. If you are no longer able to attend the event, please cancel your booking so that others on the waitlist can attend.
Please only book tickets for children who are participating in the workshop not supervising adults.
We ask you to please stay at home on the day of the event/session if you are unwell or are displaying COVID-19 or cold/flu symptoms, no matter how mild.

All equipment and items for the workshop will be supplied. We would encourage attendees to bring a hat as, weather permitting, this workshop may be held outside.

- What is a terrarium?
A terrarium is a mini indoor garden inside a clear container. It creates its own little ecosystem where kids can learn about how plants grow, how water moves through the environment, and how to care for living things. They’ll get to make one themselves and take it home to keep learning.
