School Holiday Workshops | Play with your Food

Join us here at the gallery these school holidays for workshop inspired by our current exhibition, Crystalline, which explores our consumption of all things sweet and delicious.

Take a bunch of very yummy and colourful garden and market produce and combine with a variety of hand building techniques aided by edible play dough, mini marshmallows and toothpicks to create a very one-of-a-kind mini sculptural artwork that may be devoured before it gets to be taken home for show and tell.

Using basic hand carving tools, vegetable peelers and fingers, participants will turn an empty plate into brightly coloured edible canvas or base for an edible sculpture or two. Included in the artmaking session is a food guessing game and quiz.

Tasting little bits of new foods while constructing will be OK!

All materials are supplied. Suitable for all ages. Children under 8 must be accompanied by a parent or carer, and may need assistance with tools. Accompanying adults do not need to purchase a ticket.
