ONLINE School Meetings: Are you prepared?
Event description
School Meetings: Are you prepared?
Online: Wednesday 31st January 2024
School meetings are inevitable when you have a child with disability and can either be highly productive or a source of stress and anxiety! School meetings provide the chance to communicate your vision and hopes for your child, share valuable information about them and their learning, and contribute to planning for their inclusion and participation. However, without some planning beforehand, parents can end up leaving a meeting feeling disempowered.Â
This free online workshop will be delivered by CRU facilitators passionate about inclusive education and experienced in advocating for inclusion.Â
In this online workshop, participants will:
- Understanding school meeting processes and your rightsÂ
- Clarifying your role and purpose in school meetingsÂ
- Pre-meeting preparation to avoid common traps and achieve your goalsÂ
- Staying calm and focused on your child’s education during emotive conversationsÂ
- Effective meeting follow-up
