OM NAMAH SCI-MAA®

Christina Tesoriero, a Level 1 SCI-MAA Guide, born in Australia and of European Heritage will hold this Ceremony and guide you on a lovely self-discovery journey.

"Some of the richest moments where I have experienced more of myself have been when connecting with Nature and the many lands on this Earth. The majesticness and elation of climbing to the top of the Seven Sisters in Norway, the elation of achievement ,and seeing the sunset reminded me of the sweetness of presence. The brightness and beauty of the desert wildflowers as I hiked across the Lara Pinta, reminded me of the uniqueness of Gaia's creation and the many ways she expresses beauty. As for myself, similarly to the uniqueness of myself and the many ways I express who I am: I have found beauty in this process. Every time I have journeyed with the natural world I have recentered, reconnected and remembered more of me: a process of "Disconnecting, Connecting, and Letting go" merged within myself.

In this month's SCI-MAA Ceremony Level 01, we will be holding a collective Intention for Nature and a personal one for ourselves. The Ceremony will focus on intentions for this Lands and ourselves. We are not separated from Nature, we belong to the Lands of our Ancestors, but also the lands we call home and it is our responsibility as stewards of the land to protect it, connect with it and nourish it. These Sacred Lands are a living, breathing part of us. So as we honour Gaia, as well this land of Australia, a part of her majestic manifestation, we honour ourselves, as we respect her expression, we respect ourselves and give opportunity to discover our expression as we journey across her beautiful lands and experience her.

SCI-MAA®  Sacred Guided Linguistic Dance® is a revolutionary holistic guided movement meditation and energy healing practice that brings awareness of the existence of a universal language of the body, we are all connected to.

Sabine Leila Laliya Lepoultier Touré, founder of SCI-MAA Practice, observed that there are "Five Primary Universal Movements" and each of these movements are based on what Sabine observed and called the "Five Primary Universal Intentions" found and utilised worldwide through dance, daily habits, and education. At times, these movements may not carry specific meanings for individuals. As people navigate their daily routines such as waking up, commuting, eating, drinking, praying, and going to sleep—these actions become second nature. She observed also that these universal movements align with sacred geometric patterns, serving as a universal language and are also indirectly linked to mythologies related to the stars, in specific cultures and traditions.

These five fundamental movements common across cultures are the foundation of the SCI-MAA Linguistic framework.

SCI-MAA Sacred Linguistic Dance® framework combines these movements with four Thematic elements and three Objectives, highlighting their connection to sacred geometry and ceremonial spaces: “Blocks of dance” with “Thematic“ and“ Objectives”, form the core of the Energy Medicine aspect of the SCI-MAA practice.

When a Block of dance (intention) associates to a Thematic (direction) and an Objective, a profound language is created. In SCI-MAA, it is called " The Sacred Linguistic Dance" and the practice considers it to be a "non-verbal" universal language that speaks directly to the soul. However, to make the language accessible to everyone. The physical language can be verbally translated.

The SCI-MAA practice highlights that when the Sacred Linguistic Dance® is integrated into the SCI-MAA three-stage mindfulness meditation, this combination can positively influence the subconscious mind by:

  1. Enhancing positive thoughts and emotions;

  2. Boosting self-awareness;

  3. Assisting in managing negative thought patterns;

  4. Calming the conscious mind;

  5. Enhancing intuition;

  6. Reducing stress;

  7. Fostering emotional healing.

There are three pathways for exploring the practice:

  1. Sacred Ceremonial Structure: Unique and structured, including art performances, drumming, storytelling...

  2. Group Workshop: Dynamic and adaptive. Art performance, storytelling are optional.

  3. One-to-One Session: Personalised and tailored. No Art performance.

There are three Levels of SCI-MAA Practice:

  1. Level 1: Introduction to SCI-MAA and its basics.

  2. Level 2: Development of basics and space utilization.

  3. Level 3: Complete Guided Dance Ceremony (exclusive for Level 2 practitioners).

In a standard SCI-MAA Ceremonial structure, the Guide supports participants by leading them through the SCI-MAA mindfulness meditation practice and the use of performance art, songs, drums, and poetry, harnessing the profound healing power of art. Art expresses the wisdom of the soul while promoting healing for the mind, body, and spirit. SCI-MAA Guide is an Artist: a “Shamanka.

At our coming event, the space will be transformed into a Ceremony Level 01 , a sacred and safe environment where you will be led in the meditative movements of “Sacred Linguistic Dance". This experience will allow you to release anything you do not longer need and simply be, while expressing yourself freely.

Each guide brings their own essence, their own beliefs (paganism, animism, monotheism, monism, ecetera) on top of the SCI-MAA Animistic practice. SCI-MAA is a welcoming holistic and spiritual practice where each Guides shine their own uniqueness while speaking the common animistic language of SCI-MAA and where the participants are welcome as they are.

"SCI-MAA brings a light on what connects us"

Please be informed that the practice encourages all participants to sit directly on the floor. Sitting on the floor enhances skeletal support, offers a stable base for meditation, and provides a grounding effect by being closer to Earth's energy.

FAQs

  • Can I Practice SCI-MAA If I Am Not Animistic?

    Absolutely! You can still engage in SCI-MAA Guided Mouvement Meditation even if you follow a different religion. The animistic component of the SCI-MAA holistic practice emphasizes that it is not tied to any mainstream religion or philosophy. It is rooted in the belief systems where natural elements—such as plants, animals, rocks, rivers, weather, and even inanimate objects, the Earth—are considered to possess a divine essence, spirit, soul, or consciousness, which blurs the boundaries between the physical and spiritual realms. Therefore, it can be seen as an Animistic practice.

  • I have a physical or/and mental disability. Can I still participate in SCI-MAA?

    Yes, you are welcome to join the practice! However, it's important to consult with your healthcare provider and general practitioner to ensure that attending is suitable for you. If they approve, please also discuss with them any support you may need from us. We are more than willing to explore how we can offer you the best possible service within the limits of our professional expertise as SCI-MAA Guides. Please note that we do not provide medical advice, discuss symptoms, offer diagnoses, manage conditions, or arrange medical tests. SCI-MAA is a movement meditation practice that incorporates art performance and various holistic modalities, depending on the Guides' professional skills and the SCI-MAA level.

  • Can I Bring My Children to the Practice?

    Yes, children are more than welcome to join the practice! Previous SCI-MAA Ceremonies during Festivals demonstrated the positive impact on children, who truly enjoyed their experience. We believe that SCI-MAA provides a delightful meditation experience for kids through fun and artistic performances. They always have a great time! However, please inform us in advance if you plan to bring any children. You will need to read and sign the Child Waiver - Parent or Guardian form to obtain parental consent for participation. This form aims to limit the organizer's legal liability by having parents acknowledge the inherent risks and agree not to sue in the event of injury due to negligence. Keep in mind that the enforceability of this waiver depends significantly on clarity, fairness, and local laws, as providers cannot contract out of all responsibility, particularly in cases of gross negligence or faulty equipment.

  • Why Do Different Guides Conduct Distinct ceremonies?

    Have you ever wondered why each guide holds distinct ceremonies? For instance, one of the SCI-MAA guides was dressed lightly, while another was fully attired. The SCI-MAA practice is not affiliated with any specific religion, as it is rooted in animistic traditions. Each sister is honoured for incorporating her own beliefs into the foundational animistic linguistic practices. Some guides incorporate pagan rituals as part of their holistic services when they are not engaged in SCI-MAA. Others come from Christian or Muslim backgrounds, where the acknowledgment of God, Allah, Divine or Angelic beings holds significance. Certain SCI-MAA guides honour the Land, Gaia, and the Trees, creating ceremonies to pay tribute to these elements. Additionally, some guides conduct ceremonies to explore and honour their own bodily or emotional differences, independent of religious affiliations. While SCI-MAA guides are unique in their approaches, they all share a commonality: they communicate through the same Sacred Linguistic Dance. SCI-MAA is about honouring Diversity!

  • I've come across various guides showcasing art performances featuring unusual, distorted facial expressions. Why is it the case?

    SCI-MAA Ceremonies incorporate art performance influenced by guides' artistic skills, traditions, and beliefs during ceremonies.

    Facial expressions serve as powerful storytelling tools, conveying internal thoughts and emotions without dialogue. The presence of facial expressions and gestures in performance art storytelling is highly encouraged within this practice.

    Sabine, the founder of the practice, is renowned for her use of facial expressions in her ceremonies, adapting them to match the theme of each event.

    In the realm of art performance, facial expressions serve as powerful non-verbal tools that connect the performer to the audience. Moreover, they play a vital role in authentic storytelling and build a connection with the audience.

    Facial expressions have an essential role in bringing up emotions, sometimes we were not aware of.

    Body and facial languages communicate meaning thru the performance by the Guide during the Ceremony.

    SCI-MAA is a Movement Meditation that can be experienced in a conventional meditation arrangement, workshop, one-to-one session, and Ceremony. And in a Ceremony arrangement, art performance and facial expressions are welcomed! They are part of the guidance and the experience.
