Science and the Arts Slam 2026

Are you ready to be entertained, discover something new, and open perspectives to new academic horizons?

Then join us for the 2026 Science & the Arts Slam to dive into exciting fields of study and international research:

• Sociology, Dr. Pei-Chun Ko, Monash University

• Linguistics, Dr. Carolin Schneider-Ward, Monash University

• Biomedical Science, Dr. Amna Batool, Monash University

• Intercultural Studies, Dr. Leah Gerber, Monash University

• History, Assoc. Prof. Michael Hau, Monash University

Inspired by the popular Poetry Slam format, this event sees researchers take the stage to present their research in an entertaining, accessible, and engaging way - and the audience votes their winner!

Each project has a connection to German-Australian research and study connections: research conducted in Germany, in cooperation with German research institutions, or a topic with a connection to German(y).

Stay after the slam for a chat with the presenters, study program representatives, and to learn about study & research funding through the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) - the world's largest international academic exchange funding organisation.

This event is for the curious - everyone is welcome!

This event is part of the German Week Melbourne 2026 program.

TICKETS are free of charge.
