About the La Brea Tar Pits

Visit the only Ice Age fossil site in the world that's being actively excavated in the middle of a city. Discover the past come to life when mammoths, saber-toothed cats and giant sloths roamed Ice Age L.A. and how our excavators and scientists are digging up the past today.
