Fascinated by fossils? Our next SciPub event is for you!

This month, we are digging deep into the world of palaeontology. From traditional techniques like excavation to employing the use of isotopes and tomography, our panellists will showcase different approaches utilised in palaeontology and how these contribute to our understanding of the history of life on Earth.

We are pleased to announce our panellists are:

Karl Lenser - PhD Candidate, Flinders University
Harry Anderson - Honours Student, Flinders University
Dr Alice Clement - Research Associate/Lecturer in Palaeontology, Flinders University

Please join us on Friday 28th January at the Adelaide Irish Club (13-15 Carrington St, Adelaide). The event kicks off at 6:00 pm and will finish by approximately 7:30 pm. Doors will open at 5:30 pm. All drinks are to be purchased at the bar but guests are welcome to bring their own snacks/food. Attendance is free, but please register so the venue can set up seating. We recommend arriving early to secure your preferred seating.

The principal goal of SciPubAdelaide is to make science engaging and accessible to the public. Each panel consists of three experts who deliver 10-15 minute presentations on their area and then open up to questions from the audience via a moderator. Panellists are selected primarily on their ability to effectively communicate science in an engaging and non-technical manner. SciPubAdelaide is held in a pub so that scientists, aspiring scientists, and non-scientists can learn, discuss and think critically about hot topics in science.
