The evening forum rounds out the day with the latest SCNZ industry updates, expert guidance on bolt procurement and debtor management, and an open round-table discussion. A great opportunity to upskill, stay ahead of industry developments, and connect with peers.

	WORKSHOP 1 – HOW TO OBTAIN SUSTAINABLE STEEL COUNCIL CERTIFICATION Facilitated by Jeremy Sole – SSC Executive Officer and Scheme Administrator

2:00 pm	This session introduces participants to the newly developed SSC certifications. It will explore the drivers behind the establishment of these certifications and how each certification delivers practical and commercial value to SCNZ Members. Guide participants through the submission and certification process, with insights from both experienced applicants and a HERA Cert Auditor who evaluates submissions. Provide valuable, real-world understanding of what is required to achieve certification and what assessors are looking for. The session is designed to be practical and informative, equipping attendees with the knowledge & confidence to engage with SSC certifications & apply them effectively. By the end of this session, participants will be able to > 1. Understand the purpose and value of SSC certifications. 2. Identify the relevant certification for them, based on their capabilities and commercial objectives. 3. Describe the certification process, including key steps involved in preparing and submitting an audit application. 4. Recognise auditor expectations, informed by insights from a HERA Cert Auditor and experienced applicants. 5. Apply practical tips and best practices to successfully prepare, navigate, and complete certification submissions. 6. Increase confidence in pursuing certification, with a clearer understanding of how to achieve a successful outcome. Scott Morrison – HERA Cert Responsible Products (Green Star) Certification Auditor. We will endeavour to also include an SCNZ Fabricator who has completed the process.

WORKSHOP 2 – TEMPORARY WORKS IN STEEL CONSTRUCTION

The purpose of this session is to >

Explore the role of temporary works in steel construction.
Highlight the risks and practical challenges that arise during erection and other temporary conditions before the permanent structure is complete.

The presentation should bring together both the engineering and fabrication/erection perspectives to illustrate how temporary works influence the safety, stability and constructability of steel structures.

The goal is to encourage greater collaboration between engineers, fabricators and erectors in identifying and managing temporary works requirements early in the project.
