Scone Cup Racing Carnival

Thursday 11th to Saturday 13th May 2023

Staying at the John Hunter Motel, Muswellbrook, we’ll visit the heart of Australian thoroughbred breeding, the Hunter Valley, to visit all the leading studs in NSW. With over 50 studs scattered throughout the beautiful Hunter Valley, we’ll visit two of these.

Finishing the week at the Scone Cup Carnival, it is one of the biggest country race days on the NSW racing calendar and a half-day public holiday in Scone. The two-day Darley Scone Cup Carnival incorporating the Darley Scone Cup Race Day, the next day, is the largest country racing carnival in Australia, offering nearly $2M in prize money and stand-alone metropolitan status.

Day One:

Pick-ups commence by 07:30, we then head South to Karuah for a Port Bus morning tea. Enjoy your Port Bus lunch pack en route to our stud visits. (studs yet to be confirmed) Checking in to the John Hunter Hotel around 16:00. Tonight, dinner is at the Stone & Wood Restaurant.

Includes: Door to door pickup (most areas), Port Bus morning tea, Port Bus lunch pack, exclusive visit to two thoroughbred studs, dinner & accommodation.

Day Two:

Lazy morning before heading to the Scone Race Club arriving around 11:30. We will find our way to the Peak Marquee to settle in for the day. Departing after the last race. Dinner tonight is again in the Stone & Wood Restaurant.

Includes: Breakfast, transfers to the track, Premium Hospitality at Scone races including food & beverages, dinner & accommodation.

Day Three:

Much the same as yesterday. heading to the Scone Race Club arriving around 11:30. We will find our way to the Peak Marquee to settle in for the day. Departing after the last race. Time to make our way home.
