Scots College Ceilidh 2024

Price $40 – $80 NZD + BF Buy Tickets

Event description

Time to dust off your kilt and dancing shoes!

We invite you to join us for the Scots College Ceilidh.

A highlight of the Scots College annual social calendar, the Ceilidh (pronounced Kay-Lee) is an iconic experience for young and old. The event is the band’s main fundraiser and this year helps raise funds for the 2025 Pipe Band Centenary Scotland Tour.

What happens at a Ceilidh?

For those who have not been to a Ceilidh before, it is a fantastic night of music, entertainment, and dancing. Immerse yourself and your guests in the Scots culture, dance, enjoy a quality dinner, and try the haggis if you dare! Do not worry if you think you cannot dance. You are taught the steps and dance in a group. Of course you do not have to dance if you do not want to, but we can almost guarantee that you will not be able to resist and that you and your guests will have smiles on your faces all evening.

Come and support this important part of the College culture, fill a table with your friends, grandparents, aunties, uncles, and workmates, and have some fun. There will be a cash bar available together with raffles and auctions on the night.

Tickets are $80 (adults) and $40 (school age child). This includes a buffet dinner, pre-dinner snacks, dessert, tea and coffee, and a live band.

If you have any questions about the event, please contact Pipe Band Committee Member Stephanie Kuttner.

About the Scots College Pipe Band

The Scots College Pipe Band has a history almost as long as Scots College itself. Founded in 1925, the Band is an important and strong part of the College culture, regularly playing at College milestone ceremonies and events, community functions, and Civic parades. Since its inception, thousands of students and families have been part of the vibrant Pipe Band community. They add to the special character of Scots College, representing the College locally, nationally, and internationally, and many individuals go on to perform with the New Zealand Youth Pipe Band and some of the best pipe bands in the world
