Scratch Night: Introduction session
Event description
Scratch Night: Introduction session
Wed 17 April, 7-8.30pm
Free to attend
If you are a local theatre or performance maker looking to connect with a community to test and share ideas, then come along to the first Scratch Night Introduction session. Djilang/Geelong-based theatre maker and performer Sophie Aisling will be hosting this information session to gauge interest and support for an ongoing Scratch Night at Platform Arts.
Scratch nights give writers and performance makers a space to test out an initial idea or concept, get feedback from peer audiences and connect with other performers and performance makers. Following the introduction event, a weekly or monthly schedule will be decided by the group and people will be asked to bring an idea to test. The work could be an initial idea for a scene, a monologue, or even a piece of poetry/spoken word. The writing can be intended for stage or screen or both or the medium could yet be unknown. This is a space to test and develop an initial concept, idea, character, or story. We’ll work with writers to understand how feedback from a small test audience can best help the development process.Â
