LOGLINE
An all-transgirl rock band, born from a tragic murder, embarks on a national tour to honour a fallen friend, only to become the unwilling targets of a shadowy political network that seeks to manufacture a culture war around them, using fear and outrage as a weapon to gain power.
SYNOPSIS
Screams and Whispers follows the journey of the band of the same name. Formed in the wake of a devastating hate crime, the band’s tour is intended to be a journey of healing, a tribute to a lost friend, and a celebration of life. But when their message of hope and authenticity goes viral, they attract the attention of a sophisticated political machine that sees them not as artists, but as a perfect enemy.
As the tour progresses, the band is thrust onto the front lines of a brutal culture war they never intended to fight. They face relentless media smear campaigns, manufactured protests, and the constant threat of violence, all orchestrated to destabilize a progressive government. The series is an intimate and unflinching look at the cost of fighting back. It charts the band's evolution from a hopeful startup to a resilient force for change, exploring the bonds forged through trauma, the power of vulnerability, and the strategic resistance required to speak truth to power.

Screams and Whispers is created and written by Andrew Pheasant and Tess Hart of Eros Creatives Pty Ltd.
Andrew Pheasant was the founder of Film and Television Academies at Roleystone Community College and Baldivis Secondary College. He is currently a sessional Academic at Curtin University. Tess Hart is a Chef de Cuisine and an events manager.
