Description

Join us at CMAG for a screening of the 80s classic film Desperately Seeking Susan with an introduction by local drag artist and cultural warrior Venus Mantrap.

In the era of the screwball comedy Desperately Seeking Susan looms large. Often considered Madonna's best role in cinema, this mid 80s snapshot of New York City - and the cast of grifters and wannabes who inhabit it - is so much more than the sum of its parts. In the context of Jerry Kirbell's exhibition, Madonna40: A Celebration, we will look back at this beloved piece of culture focusing on its artistic merit and enduring legacy.

Directed by Susan Seidelman. 104 mins
