Screening of An Ecology of Mind with Nora Bateson
Event description
Join us for the Screening of An Ecology of Mind, an intimate portrait of Gregory Bateson, celebrated anthropologist, philosopher, author, naturalist, systems theorist, and filmmaker, at the Mercury Theatre on Wednesday March 26th.
Gregory Bateson’s theories, such as “the double bind” and “patterns that connect”, continue to impact the fields of anthropology, psychiatry, information science, cybernetics, urban planning, biology, and ecology, challenging people to think in new ways.
This artistic piece takes us into the world of Gregory’s life and thinking from the perspective of his daughter, Nora Bateson, a celebrated Film maker.
We invite you to enjoy this special screening with us and come closer to the Bateson legacy. We will kick off at 6:30pm with an introduction by Nora and a panel discussion to finish off after we have watched the film.
