What would Australia look like if we simply listened to the needs of its people? Regenerating Australia is the latest film from Damon Gameau, the award-winning director of 2040 and That Sugar Film. Join us for a community screening giving us a hopeful look at all that can be done to transition to a fairer, cleaner, more community focused economy by the year 2030.

Regenerating Australia is a 17-minute short film based on a four-month interview process with a diverse group of Australians who shared their hopes and dreams for the country's future. Set on the eve of 2030, this ‘mocked up’ look back at this critical decade is full of hope and aspiration, mapping out a pathway for change that can lead us to a more sustainable future. But it is a muscular hope, as each news event is grounded in the research and modelling of several organisations that have been examining and advocating for such a transition.

Tuka Tuka KothuRoti Man and Food Not Bombs will be catering this event - a delicious, warming dinner will be served from 6pm.

At 7pm, there will be a Welcome to Country with Elder and Educator - Uncle Bill Nicholson, followed by the film screening, a panel of guest speakers and time for questions and discussions about community-focused solutions for the climate crisis.

This is a FREE family friendly event hosted by CARYA (Climate Adaptation Requires Youth Action - a Banksia Gardens initiative) and HCAN (Hume Climate Action Now). If you'd like to make a gold coin donation for dinner, we'd be most grateful for your contribution.
