The recent attack on Venezuela's Sovereignty is not the only attempt of destabilising the Latin American nation. In 2002, Irish filmmakers were intending to document the unfolding Bolivarian process by following Chávez and his staff and interviewing ordinary citizens. As the coup unfolded on 11 April, Bartley and Ó Briain filmed on the streets of the capital, Caracas, capturing footage of protesters and the violence.

The Hands Off Venezuela network is a united front of all who support Venezuela demanding the Australian Government immediately repair diplomatic ties with Venezuela, denounce the US military aggression against Venezuela, and affirm Venezuela's right to sovereignty and self-determination.

This film screening will be accompanied by speakers from the ACP, the Spirit of Eureka, Red Spark and Solidarity.
