Event description

A script supervisor, also known as a continuity supervisor, ensures that each scene in a film or TV production can be edited to make sense. They work closely with the director and editor, and communicate with other departments to ensure the final footage, shot at different times and locations, can work well as a whole. This position is vital for major and indie film projects. That is why The Auteur Club will host it’s Script Supervisor Training Weekend, taught by Dr. Anwar Jamison. Dr. J is a Memphis based filmmaker, writer and professor of film at The University of Memphis.  This is a two day, in person, training workshop. On the first day students will learn script formatting, script breakdown, pre-timing, set logs, and continuity notes. On the second day students will participate in a series of applied practice activities with actors shooting various scenes. All students will be evaluated and one student offered a gig as script supervisor for the Memphis Movie Production project “The Coffee Shop” currently in pre-production. All participants must reside in Shelby County, Tennessee.
