Anyone - no matter their filmmaking experience, can learn to develop their short film ideas.
On Saturday 7th of November, join Script to Screen's South Auckland Short Film Workshop to feel empowered with the tools to make your story come to life.
This Workshop will be lead by accomplished and award-winning filmmaker and scholar Tavu’i Dr. Marina Alofagia McCartney. (Sāmoa - Sāmoeleoi, Sālilomaiava; England - Geordie, Romanichal). She is the filmmaker behind Milk & Honey (2012), which depicts the Samoan experience of the Dawn Raids, and wrote and directed the Samoan vignette in Vai (2019), which opened NATIVe at the Berlinale. Her work has screened at Palm Springs, NZIFF, imagineNATIVE, SXSW, Edinburgh, Sydney and Melbourne. She is one of the most credited Pacific women screenwriters in prime-time NZ television (My Life is Murder, Blue Murder Motel, The Brokenwood Mysteries). Her short The Return is on the festival circuit, and she is currently writing her next feature film for a US-NZ co-production.
