Event description

Switzerland Christmas Festival / Swiss Club End of Year 2025 Celebration, featuring Swiss-Italian Canton Ticino!

This year the event is supported by Ticino Turismo (https://www.ticino.ch/) and will be held late afternoon and offers a dinner featuring specialties from the Swiss-Italian Canton Ticino!

Join us for an authentic Swiss Christmas Festival and please choose between following 2 traditional Swiss-Italian Ticino dinner meals (meat or vegetarian):

Merlot Risotto with traditional Luganighetta (Ticino Pork Sausage) and native salad
Vegetarian White Wine Penny Bun (Steinpilz / Cèpes / Porcini) Mushroom Risotto and native salad

We are super thrilled that the amazing Manu from Manu Delights (https://www.facebook.com/ManuDelights/), who cooked the 2025 Fondue during the Fonduenight, will be cooking again for the Swiss Club!

Registration / Purchase of ticket is required for all attendees. There is limited capacity, only 120 tickets are available! Don't wait, get yours today! Deadline to register is Wednesday 26th November, 2025

Details:

Raffle with beautiful prizes (e.g. real traditional Swiss Advent Wreath, stocking full of Swiss goodies and cookies, ... and Ticino Spa vouchers and Ticino discovery books for children!)
Everyone receives a small traditional Swiss Breadman (Grittibänz / Bonhomme en pâte / Pupazzo di San Nicolao)
Coffee and tea is provided
Please bring along a dish to contribute to the amazing dessert buffet to share with others!
Bring your own drinks and cups / glasses, and coffee / tea mugs.

For the children:

St. Nicolas will visit the children!
Signing up for the Gift-bag for a personal meeting with St. Nicolas is required.
Craft corner and other games provided.

The Swiss Club of SA (SCSA) was founded in 1966 and there are now over 1100 Swiss Australians in South Australia. We organize many events throughout the year like a big Fondue Night, the National Day Celebration and a 'Samichlaus-Picknick'.

Who we are:

(Recent) migrants from Switzerland
The children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Swiss migrants
People who are interested in Swiss food, culture, and tradition!

Our Club Members include families of all ages, couples and singles - all are welcome to join us.

What we do:

Eat, drink, and laugh together
Share and learn about Swiss cuisine, culture, travel, literature, history, language, traditions, sports...Hop Schweiz!
Promote respect for and understanding of Swiss heritage through our participation in community events
Give back to the Adelaide community through charitable outreach programs

Whether it's eating lots of cheese at Fondue night, learning the art of Schlangenbrot in the Kuitpo Forest, attending a Swiss Film screening, getting excited about the Samichlaus, helping out with the Swiss Radio.... there's always something fun going on.

Where we do it:

At our Austrian Friends' Clubhouse (Australian Club of South Australia - Ovingham)
At local South Australian parks
At community events

While we don't have an official Clubhouse, our friends at the Austrian Club partner with us to host many of our functions there. Many of our activities take us out into the community - sometimes to learn, sometimes to teach and reach out.

Why we do it:

To pass on our Swiss heritage to younger generations of Swiss-Australians
To promote understanding of Swiss culture and the contributions of Swiss-Australians within the South Australian community
Because it's just a whole lot of fun!
