Join us on Tuesday 21 January or Wednesday 22 January for our 2025 School Holiday Program!

Both sessions are running both days.

Two sessions, PLUS free zine making activities between session and a kids' book sale!

10:00am – 10:30am: Author Pat Simmons reads 'The Cat Thief' and 'Ziggy's Zoo' (plus activities)
Suitable for under 8-year-olds.

10:30 - 11:30 Zine-making activities & kids book sale

FREE session & no booking required

11:30am – 12:30pm: Fantasy map illustration with author Liv Lorkin
Escape into a fantasy world, build empires, raging rivers and winding pebbled roads. In this fun and creative workshop, kids will explore the ancient art of map-making, bringing to life their fantasy world. Using imagination and play we'll learn how to design landmarks, use symbology and craft a story behind your map. At the end of the session, you'll have a map worthy of great adventure. Perfect for explorers aged 8-12.
$20 session ticket.

Pat Simmons lives at Scarborough on the south coast of New South Wales with her cats, Mr. Meowgi and Oscar. Prior to devoting her time to writing, Pat worked in children’s services for over 20 years, in Early Childhood, Out of School Hours Care, the National Maritime Museum as Kids’ Deck Coordinator, and as a Tafe teacher. Pat is a writer of poetry, short stories, flash fiction and children’s picture books. Her poetry has been published in children’s literary magazines including School Magazine and has won awards in the UK and Australia.

Liv Lorkin is a heart-led creative, children's book author, and illustrator. She self-published her first picture book in 2021, Winter in Ballarat. Since then, she has authored five and illustrated six more books, culminating in her latest release, Sage and the Journey of Grief. Drawing from her childhood experience of losing her mum, Liv infuses her middle-grade work with authenticity and empathy.
