THE CALL FOR AN ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE IN PORT STEPHENS IS GATHERING FORCE

A modern purpose-built entertainment centre is long overdue in the Port.  Dance schools in Port Stephens have to go to Newcastle to put on performances and travelling shows can't visit because there is no suitable performance venue.  Much smaller communities than Port Stephens have had entertainment centres for years.

AN AMAZING OPPORTUNITY TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS IS OFFERED BY THE REDEVELOPMENT OF THE TOMAREE HEADLAND

At this unique moment in time, the Port has the chance to do something wonderful at this iconic site for the local community and visitors from all over Australia and increasingly from overseas in the coming decades.  Imagine Bennelong Point without the Opera House!  Now is the time for Port Stephens to show the same vision as Sydney in the 1960s.

THE CAMPAIGN FOR AN ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE IS BEING SPEARHEADED BY THE TOMAREE CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT GROUP BUT THEY NEED FUNDS

A pressing priority is to develop a concept plan to submit to Port Stephens Council and to Government.  This concert aims to raise $3000 towards the cost of the concept plan.  The proceeds of your ticket purchase will go towards this goal, and any further donation on this website would be very gratefully received!  More information about the TCDG's campaign can be found at www.tcdg.org.au

    JENNIFER KAYE
is a professional singer who has performed with Opera Australia, the Victorian State Opera and the Song Company, among other groups, and has recorded several solo programs for the ABC.  She has also been a regular visitor to Port Stephens with her family for the past 25 years and has a house in Anna Bay.  She dreamed for a long time of performing Edward Elgar's beautiful "Sea Pictures" songs with projections from the area and is delighted to have the opportunity to perform this concert for such a fantastic cause.

She will be accompanied by pianist EUN-JUNG BYUN, who is an Associate Professor of Collaborative Piano at Sydney Conservatorium of Music and holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts.

They are joined by PHILOMEL OF SYDNEY TRIO who will be serving up a musical tasting plate of songs ranging from jazz to G&S to classics and film music.  Join us after the concert for wine and cheese.

ONLINE TICKET SALES WILL CLOSE AT 12.00 NOON ON 11TH MAY AFTER WHICH TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR FROM 6.30PM UNLESS SOLD OUT.
